Eight medals at the Surrey Championships

Surrey U15B Girls Doubles ChampionsIt was a successful weekend for players from Albury Badminton, bringing home a total of eight medals at this year's U11 and U15 Surrey Championships. The morning started with the U15s, with Sophie Walton and Hannah Warner-Edney winning the U15B doubles. Sophie then partnered with Jonathan Bruce and they too won the U15B mixed doubles.

In the U15A, Tilly Ip and Meera Sivakumaran won all their games to become this year's Champions. Tilly, who is an U14 player, was last year's doubles and mixed champion in the U13 category, so this adds to her ever growing trophy collection.

In the U11A, Anna Palacci partnered with Anna Church won the semi-finals after winning all their games in the group stage to advance to the final but was edged out by the eventual winners, taking home very well deserved silver medals. For Bagio Matthew, he also won all his games in his group and then won both the semi-finals and a tightly fought final in the boys singles. Riding on his success, he then went on to win the U11A doubles.
A very successful start to the season and we wish all our players continual growth and development as the season advances.
